We are sooooo excited to begin this blog. It has been such an amazing culinary journey over the past years, and we are eager to share with you what has been passed down to us, what we have learnt ourselves and what we have stumbled across along the way.
Let us introduce ourselves a little better.
Natasha Mansour – 26y.o. richly blessed wife to a wonderful husband and a happy homemaker. I began cooking by my mother’s side as soon as I could reach the bench standing on a chair. The kitchen has always been one of my favourite rooms in the home, a place to experiment to prepare gifts of nourishment and delight to present to my family. I have always had a passion for health and good food. Coming to know Christ and studying nutrition increased my excitement in the culinary world as it broadened my understanding of the importance of taking care of our bodies and our families by providing healthful, delicious vegan meals. I am so thankful for the blessing of my patient mother who always made the home duties a delight and walked me much of the way down the path that I have continued to travel. My desire is to share the blessing I have gained so far and to continue growing and learning as we travel together on the path of health and happiness that God desires for us all. "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth." 3 John 1:2
Melissa Awde - 28y.o.- a wife to an amazing husband and a mother to 2 beautiful boys Danny and Marco. Life is a very exciting journey and has taken and still is taking me to places and experiences that I thought I would never EVER explore. My love for food awakened in my early teen years, and mainly because of the encouragement and praise I received from family and friends; even if the lasagne sheets were not 'instant' and stayed uncooked and crunchy! Slowly but surely, the Lord showed me the importance and need of eating TASTY wholesome VEGAN-licious food, and I have never looked back. God desires to be "...filling our hearts with food and gladness." Acts 14:17 and in our home this all happens around the family meal table. It is where laughter is heard, memories are made and bodies nourished. I pray that your journey and experience will be richly blessed as mine has.
Yiannoulla Burness - Active registered nurse and wife of 33 years. I am very passionate about the total vegetarian lifestyle. My husband and I commenced total vegetarian cooking demonstrations and health lectures in Devonport, Tasmania, approximately 15 years ago. Since that time we have had many wonderful experiences in sharing our journey with others. It was a radical change some twenty years ago from a meat based diet. We discovered from personal study of the Christian scriptures and medical research that the vegetarian lifestyle is the most beneficial to human health. Ellen White, a 19th century author, was insightful when stating: "Health is a treasure. Of all temporal possessions it is the most precious. Wealth, learning, and honor are dearly purchased at the loss of the vigor of health. None of these can secure happiness, if health is lacking." Someone once said that "No army is as powerful as an idea whose time has come." We believe, with the state of the nation's health, that the time has truly come for vegetarianism - "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God." 1Corinthians 10:31
Join us around the family meal table..."For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." Matthew 18:20
